Neal F. Zimmers Jr., Founder

Neal F. Zimmers has been practicing law for more than 50 years. His practice now focuses on real estate, trusts and estates, business transactions and state and local government issues 


    Neal Zimmers regularly represents clients in planning and administering estates. He helps clients large or small identify their primary goals and consider options in achieving these goals. Neal helps you or your family plan for what will happen to your belongings, assets, debts, and other legal matters after your lifetime.   


     Neal works closely with owners and officers of businesses on corporate governance issues, investor issues, acquisitions and dispositions of property, mergers and acquisitions of businesses and closure of businesses and their assets.


     Neal graduated from The George Washington University Law School, JD, 1967; Denison University, BA, 1964. Neal is admitted to practice law in Ohio, and Washington, DC. While in law school, he worked at the Federal Trade Commission. Upon graduation he became a staff attorney in the Federal Trade Commission Compliance and Enforcement Office. He returned to Ohio and entered the practice of law in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio and served as magistrate in Domestic Relations Court. He was elected and later re-elected Montgomery County Court judge at the age of 26 thus becoming the youngest judge in the history of the state of Ohio serving from 1968 – 1974. In 1974, he was elected to the first of five terms to the Ohio Senate from the Fifth District serving until 1995. Throughout his years in the Senate, he maintained his practice of law with his law firm in Dayton Ohio. He formerly held the post of Senate President Pro Tempore and as a minority leader. Neal also served as Vice President, State Relations, Ohio for CSX Corp, 10 years. 


     He has won national recognition for his legislative work on behalf of women single heads of households. He has received honors and awards, including Ohio’s Outstanding Young Man Award from the Ohio Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1974; Outstanding Service award to the Hispanic Community of Ohio; Outstanding Legislator of the Year from the League of Ohio Sportsmen and National Wildlife Association; and recognition by the American Academy of Pediatrics for his efforts in child safety. Ohio University presented him with its Phillips Medal for Outstanding Public Service. He is a recipient of Denison University’s Alumni Citation.

· Ohio Capitol Square Foundation, Board Member, Vice-Chair 1996-2002. 

· Ohio Building Authority, Secretary-Treasurer (Governors’ Appointee) 2009 – 2011.
